Kiara Advani shares her experience of shooting ‘Nach Punjaban’ and why she thinks Anil Kapoor is like a child on the set.
Kiara Advani recently shared that she had a great time shooting Jugjugg Jeeyo and the song ‘Nach Punjaban’. She credited Bosco, the choreographer of the song, for doing an incredible job.
“It felt like we were one big family shooting this song. It’s a beautiful song. The thing about Punjabis is that the minute you put a song, there’s a crazy energy that comes alive. The aura of the place gets celebratory. It translated really well with the feel of the song. This song is an important part in the film,” she said.
But shooting the song wasn’t a cakewalk for the actress. “Matching steps with Varun was difficult since the song is extremely energetic. He has the best energy while dancing,” she clarified.
Though the song presents a celebratory moment in the film, Jugjugg Jeeyo deals with the sensitive topic of divorce. Director Raj Mehta has incorporated it with the element of comedy. This is the second time that the actress has worked with the director. They previously worked together in Good Newwz that became a huge hit.
When asked why she said yes to Jugjugg Jeeyo, the actress said, “The situations are quite relatable as either we have gone through this scenario or we will face it. It is beautiful the way our directors brought the three generations together. Each generation is dealing with the same problems. That’s why it makes it so personal.”
In the film, Kiara essays the role of a Punjabi daughter-in-law. Kiara joked that she now feels half Punjabi.
“I always gets Punjabi characters in films. It feels that I am actually half Punjabi,” she said with a smile.
Jugjugg Jeeyo also stars Anil and Neetu Kapoor. This is the first time that Kiara will share the screen space with the two actors. Sharing her fondness towards Anil Kapoor, she said that the Mr. India actor continues to inspire her.
“Anil sir is the most inspirational actor to work with. The best thing about him is that when he is on the set, he is really like a child. His drive and energy on the set is infectious. He wants to rehearse and do multiple takes. He doesn’t give up easily,” she said.
The film also stars Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli. It is slated to release on June 24.
