Actor Suniel Shetty is all set to make his digital debut. He will soon be seen in a 10-episode series titled 'Dharavi Bank', where he will play a ruthless and unattainable Thalaivan.
This will also be the first time that he will share a screen space with Vivek Oberoi and Sonali Kulkarni. While Oberoi will be seen as an honest, atypical tough cop JCP Jayant Gavaskar, Kulkarni will play a sharp and shrewd Chief Minister Janvi Surve.
The series would revolve around a cop trying to topple over a powerful gangster, who is the de facto government in Mumbai. It will amalgamate action, emotions and mayhem, and bring alive the unending stretch of narrow dirty lanes, open sewers and cramped huts of Dharavi.
Talking about his role, Shetty said, "I thought I was Thalaivan the minute they narrated it (the story) to me. Somewhere down the line, I got the confidence that after a break of so many years, I can go back to school.”
Produced by Zee Studios and directed by Samit Kakkad, Dharavi Bank would also feature Luke Kenny, Freddy Daruwala, Shanthi Priya, Santosh Juvekar, Nagesh Bhosle, Siddharth Menon, Hitesh Bhojraj, Samikssha Batnagar, Rohit Pathak, Jaywant Wadkar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Bhavvana Rao, Shruti Srivastava, Sandhya Shetty, Pavitra Sarkar and Vamsi Krishna in key roles. It will air from November 19 on MX Player.
